Property Tour Checklist for San Miguel de Allende
A consistent checklist makes different homes easier to compare. Observe the property, the street and the operating details that do not appear in photographs.
A tour checklist protects the buyer from comparing one home emotionally and another technically. The same observations and questions should be recorded for every property.
The purpose is not to perform an inspection without an inspector. It is to identify what is visible, what remains unanswered and which specialist should verify each material concern.
Before the tour
Confirm price, currency, location, approximate areas, included items, occupancy and known maintenance. Save the same five priorities for every home so the route does not become a collection of unrelated impressions.

Walk the street first
Notice access, slope, parking, traffic, noise, lighting, nearby activity and the route to places you would use. Visit at another relevant time when the street experience is a deciding factor.
Property tour checklist by area
| Area | Observe during the tour | Follow-up |
|---|---|---|
| Street | Access, slope, noise, parking and lighting | Return at another relevant time |
| Interior | Light, moisture, ventilation and water pressure | Questions for the inspector |
| Systems | Water, drainage, roof, equipment and security | Maintenance records and specialist review |
Inside the property
Observe natural light, ventilation, temperature, moisture signs, odors, cracks, water pressure, storage, circulation and privacy. Record questions for an inspector or specialist instead of diagnosing technical conditions yourself.
Outdoor areas and systems
Review drainage, roof access, gardens, pools, water storage, equipment areas, solar systems, security and maintenance access. Ask what is included and who currently manages recurring work.

After every visit
Score location, condition, fit, operating effort and total budget immediately. Write the strongest reason to buy and the strongest reason not to buy, then identify every unanswered question.
Before deciding
Return to finalists, request the relevant documents and engage qualified legal, notarial, inspection, tax or technical professionals. The tour creates a shortlist; it does not replace due diligence.
